Are YOU Ready to Become an AmeriCorps Member?
The Red Cross has several openings in the St. Louis area for the AmeriCorps – NPRC (National Preparedness and Response Corps). Members of the NPRC provide vital emergency assistance to communities affected by disaster, and increase preparedness in the areas of greatest need before disasters strike.
By recruiting, training, and supporting young adults, they will provide American Red Cross direct service activities, integrated community outreach, and education focusing on disaster preparedness and community safety.
There are several benefits to becoming an AmeriCorps member. Full-time members who complete their service earn a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award to pay for college, graduate school, or to pay back qualified student loans. Members who serve part-time receive a partial Award. Some AmeriCorps members may also receive a modest living allowance during their term of service. Most importantly, all members gain new skills and experiences—and also find the tremendous satisfaction that comes from helping others.
